On the Night Time Sea
Shatter
Doors don’t close
When I hear your voice
Endless Sky
Summer of 1979
It’s only Beauty
Mesmerised
Confusion Games
Never the Time (not chosen for the album).
1. On the Night Time Sea
Underneath the silky sky
And beneath the moonlight throng
There we’ll be, just you and I
On the hill where we belong
Under covers of green and white
In the silent, velvet room
We are laying warm and tight
From the evening through till morn.
I hear you draw breath
In and out, In and out, In and out.
It’s the pattern of the night
In and out, In and out, In and out.
Calm and smooth
Sound sleep tight.
Well the lighthouse sounds its horn
To warn the ships far, far, far, far away from home.
The cat purrs as I toss and turn,
on the sleepless sea of indecision.
I hear you draw breath
In and out, In and out, In and out.
It’s the pattern of the night
In and out, In and out, In and out.
Calm and smooth
Sound sleep tight.
Those thoughts are darkest night;
Those thoughts at darkest Iight;
uncontrollable thoughts,
On the night time sea,
On the night time sea,
On the night time sea,
On the night time sea.

2. Shatter
There’s a space,
Between me and the old house now,
We stand a field apart
A field in red
Is sown all shades of green
Across the evening sky
Darker as the clouds drift by
Redder as evening falls
Darker as the sun drips down
Redder as the evening falls
The house sits mournful now
And quite alone
It’s lights will soon explode and glow
And there inside
Around the hearth
Gather those who need to know
Come together, come around,
Hearing stories, where none had been found,
To be told what they never knew.
And the world will shatter now
And the world will break in many pieces
And the world will shatter all around
And break the old house down
INSTRUMENTAL (verse)
Except for those who
Come together come around
Hearing stories where none had been found
To be told what they never knew
Darker as the crowds drift by
Redder as evening falls
Darker as the sun drips down
Redder as the evening falls
And the world will shatter now
And the world will break in many pieces
And the world will shatter all around
and break the old house down x 3

3. Doors Don’t Close
Don’t look back It cloudies where you’re going
Don’t look back It stops you seeing clear
Don’t look back All that too-ing and fro-ing
Makes you too dizzy to see
Make your choice, Leave your past
Open doors and walk this way, walk this way, walk this way
Make your choice, Leave your past
Open doors and walk this way, walk this way, walk this way
(Run up)
Doors don’t close unless you shut them
Opportunity comes so Why keep it knocking
Doors don’t close unless you shut them
Opportunity comes so Why keep it knocking
Take your time Enjoy what you’re doing
Take your time More haste, less speed, less mess
Take your time All that coming and going
Makes you too busy to look
Make your choice, Leave your past
Open doors and walk this way, walk this way, walk this way
Make your choice, Leave your past
Open doors and walk this way, walk this way, walk this way
(Run up)
Doors don’t close unless you shut them
Opportunity comes so Why keep it knocking
Doors don’t close unless you shut them
Opportunity comes so Why keep it knocking
John’s boogie (End 2 =)
Tap-tap-tap-tap-tap-tap-tap tapping at the door.
Doors don’t close unless you shut them
Opportunity comes so Why keep it knocking
Doors don’t close unless you shut them
Opportunity comes so Why keep it knocking
The door is open - opportunity is waiting for you
The door is open

4. When I hear your voice
This word captures
This place
In time
So I can be here
When I say this word
This scent captures
This time
And place
So I can be here
When I smell this scent
This song captures
This moment
In time
So I can be here now
When I hear this song
And when I see you
I can be with you
And when I hold you
I can enfold you
And when I sing to you
I can be with you my child
Now, Now, Now, Now, Now, Now, Now
Living with you now
You are my now
My baby girl
because with you
I can capture
This place
This time
And I can return
And be here
When I hear your voice
When I hear your voice
When I hear your voice
When you say this word
When I smell your scent
When I hear your song
When I hear your voice
Baby days are gone
Baby days are gone
When I hear your voice
When I hear your voice
When I hear your voice

5.Endless Sky
I’m watching the Endless sky
Moving slowly above
Candy-floss pink
in dropsical streaks
I’m walking.
My shadow’s cast tall and long
Cows standing field born
Rows of gravestones
Peppercorn black
I’m walking.
Walking the infinite stretch
Over and over and there beyond reach
My mind explodes in autumnal light
There beyond, beyond our sight
BREAK ~
Hidden once
Now out damn spot
I'm telling you
this is what we've got
you better run
you better try
you gotta fly
higher
Deep beneath the red wine soil
A flock rise up above
Black dots against the sky
Time to fly.
Flying the infinite stretch
Over and over and there beyond reach
My mind explodes in autumnal light
There beyond, beyond our sight
Hone it
Cut it down
Short and sweet and underground
Break it
Shake it up
Underneath a loving cup
REPEAT VERSE 1
Watching the Endless sky
Moving slowly above
Candy-floss pink
in dropsical streaks
I’m walking
I’m walking

6. The Summer of ‘79
And here it is!
Here! Here! In the summer
Here, in the summer
The evenings long
Long, Long in the sunshine
Hot, in the sunshine
Hot, hot in the sunshine
In the summertime of 1979
My mind jumps back,
My mind jumps over
Events are carried close,
But then they’re glossed over
Moments come back
From the summertime of 1979
Chorus
Bathed in yellow
Cigarette-hue yellow
Colour of looking back
Through the stains
Through the stains
And here it is,
Here, here in the garden
Here in the back garden
Bows and arrows are crafted
In the wood-fenced garden
In the summertime of 1979
Chorus
Bathed in yellow
Cigarette-hue yellow
Colour of looking back
Through the stains
Outro
Fixing daisy chains, mixing potions and perfumes
Pulling sweet scented petals, He loves me, he loves me not
He la la loves me, he loves me not
in the summertime of 1979,
in the summertime of 1979,
in the summertime
of 1979

7. It’s only beauty
Don’t chew my black heart,
Don’t pick it all apart,
Don’t mess with my only dress,
Don’t pick my shape apart,
It’s only beauty
Put down for fools
It’s only space, flat flickering, for a penny, selling a soul
To a hole in the road
In the quest for beauty all that glisters is not gold.
It’s only a painting, but it waves as I’m watching
It dances and glimmers
But I am still in there
It’s all around me and it watches o’er me
And I am your painting, I AM ART, ART, ART….
In for a penny in for a pound its beauty, beauty all around!
In for a penny in for a pound all that beauty all around.
Take the silkscreen,
Shape the pattern,
Cut the woodblock,
Make it happen,
Take the silkscreen,
Shape the pattern,
Cut the woodblock,
Make it happen,
Shape, shape,
Make, Make
– AH Ahhh
Art, art, art, art…

8. Mesmerised
He sits down by the window,
Takes out his handkerchief,
Shakes it out in front of his face,
Wipes it across his forehead,
While she moves gently towards him,
Stops behind his chair,
Takes out her blue comb,
Pulls it through her hair,
And time stands still,
And life waits a while,
He checks his watch,
She feigns a smile.
There’s just no time left for them,
Not even a moment to spare,
If he doesn’t turn around now,
She will just be standing there,
Both in bubbles of stillness,
She reaches out her hand,
Touches the crown of his head,
He turns around.
And life starts anew,
And life moves a-pace,
He looks in her eyes,
And smiles light up their faces.
~
They sit down by the window,
With the garden far behind,
Sunlight fills their vision-field,
And peace fills up their minds.
In the field of right and wrong,
they meet in the space between,
Their bodies rise and fall with breath
They hold each other tight again.
And life dances on.
And they start to fly.
And he looks in her eyes,
And she is mesmerised, And he is mesmerised
And she is mesmerised, And he is mesmerised

9. Confusion Games
You were my brother,
you were my friend,
When I fell down
You gave me your hand
You lifted me up again
Wiped my eyes and
Raised me to your side
Wiped my eyes and
Raised me to your side
Then as we grew
You took your road
As we grew I took mine
Our paths rarely crossed again
Your path was hard for me to follow my friend
Your path was hard for me to follow my friend
I walked with you some of the way
I held your hand
But I could only go so far
the last part you walked alone
the last part you walked alone
But you are beside me
Wherever I go
I hear you voice
I see your face
when the stars appear at dusk
And shadows play their confusion games
And shadows play their confusion games

Songs
Not on the album
Never the Time
It’s never the time,
Coming through the snow,
It’s never the time
On a night so cold
Down our dark and uniform road,
Trees in rows of bay windows
It’s never the time
With Christmas in your eyes
It’s never the time
Holding you so close
The lights are shining onto your eyes
Tears are falling down my face
You say yes,
I say no!
We start to change
the usual scenario,
Look for an out
Don’t want to shout
Look for the door
To get me out of here
Break - into solo
It’s never the time
Even though I know it’s now
It’s never the time
I have to tell you somehow
Presents are here under the tree
Christmas is for us two no longer for three
It’s never the time
It’s never the time
It’s never the time
It’s never the time
